SlimBlade Mouse with Nano Receiver

The SlimBlade mouse is 9x5.5x2cm the last figure is maximum. It is all back with the exception of a grey surround for the scroll wheel. It weights 70 grams with the supplied two ‘AAA’ batteries inserted.

It is just oblong with no curve and the highest point is just behind centre. There are no distinct mouse buttons with the whole front portion of the sides able to be depressed for the mouse actions. This of course means it is suitable for almost any hand size.

I suspect the hardest thing for users to get used to is the very light weight of the unit. I found it easy to click both left and right buttons up to 4cm from the front. The logical position is around 2cm from the front as this is where the scroll wheel is.

The base has a slider switch to save battery life when not in use. I used it with both a PC and a notebook.

The nano receiver that fits in any USB port is 2x1x.5cm and 1.5cm of the size is inside the USB port when plugged in so only a non descript black .5cm pokes out it does have Kensington in silver on the front but unless you have 20/20 vision you may need a magnifying glass to see it.

If you like a mouse with little weight then this could be for you. If you like a mouse with no cord then this could be for you. If you travel and take a notebook but do not like a trackpad then this could be for you, just don’t leave the nano receiver behind.

Ci95m Wireless Mouse with Nano receiver

This unit is 10.5x6x2cm and weights 88cm with the provided two ‘AA’ batteries inserted. It has black base and sides (the latter are rubberised) a silver gey top with a ribbed rubber area towards the back, the scroll wheel is black.

Like the item above there are no distinct buttons with a push anywhere in the first 5cm from the front providing the click but the scroll wheel goes back 2cm from the front so this is the idea touching point.

There is a slider on the otherwise flat base to save batteries when not in use.

Just a little bigger and heavier than the unit above and with the rubber sides it may suit those whose hands sweat. In my tests both units did everything I asked. There are no drivers or software provided and certainly on the ME, XP, Vista and Windows 7 units I tried them on none was required.
