10 Second Film Festival Launches at the CANNES Festival du Film 2004

The worlds shortest film festival at what is arguably the worlds most famous. The www.10secFilmFest.com is a new concept in entertainment utilising the latest technology to bring short films to the largest growing media forum on Earth. All films in the Festival are 10 seconds or less and are made using anything from video phones, CCTV, webcams, digital video Cameras, computer animations and even MacroMedia Flash clips.

 Submitted films for the 10 sec film fest can be seen FREE on MPeg4 and browser enabled mobile phones, the internet, television and even Cinemas. While the creative challenge of 10 second shorts attracts professional talents from Hollywood to Bollywood, the 10 sec film fest is open to all would be film makers from every walk of life or level of ability. We want to turn every Mobile phone, PDA, laptop and home pc into a home cinema and evey person into a budding Spielberg or Tarentino.

 

While the creative challenge of 10 second shorts attracts professional talents from Hollywood to Bollywood, the 10 Sec Film Fest is also accessible to would-be filmmakers from every walk of life or level of ability.  The current films can be viewed at our launch site www.10Secfilmfest.com and even via mobile phones on the same url. 

 

Each month starting in September 2004, prizes will be awarded for the best 10 sec film across a wide variety of categories nominated by a team of Film Industry Professionals with the public choosing their favorites and voting for who should win the monthly $1000 prize for the best 10 sec film of the month.

All users registering before end of June 2004 will be entered into the $1000 prize draw and will recieve an email newsletter telling them the latest submissions and winners and updates or new categories.

 

The first annual awards ceremony where we will award the "Palme Dix" will take place at Cannes 2005 with a cash award of $10,000 and global recognition for the best ten second short.
