This is both a large – in height and width – Desktop PC it is also rather heavy. It is marketed as a Gaming PC and two things matters for these machines speed and lack of noise this certainly has both of those.

click image to enlargeThe HP Omen 35L measures 42cm from front to back, 21cm from side to side and 42cm tall. It weights 14.5 kilos and with the box it is 18.5 kilos.
After the initial boot up and setup which takes around 48 minutes including extra updates, the normal boot up is 15 seconds.
The front, the left side, top and back all give a light show. The right side is solid, the left side is clear so you can see the inside. Unusually the top is not solid as it is full of tiny holes to help with ventilation. Once on and waiting the only light is on the left side which is white and 10cm wide saying GeForce RTX
Towards the front of the top are a 3.5mm socket for headphones, USB 'C' and two USB as well as the on/off button, this has a white LED when the unit has power. The front has no connections, the rear has a large silent fan on the top half of the left back. Beside this on the right are a line of four USB, below this a USB 'C'. Also on the rear are a microphone socket, a RJ-45, an audio in and an audio out. Next four expansion slots only the top one is in use this contains HDMI and three Display Port sockets. The machine has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The NVIDIA graphics card ran my monitor at both 2560x1440 and 1920x1080 and both displays looked perfect. It has 5.1 surround sound built in.
It comes Windows 11 home (version 24:2 when updated which is the latest version). There are a range of 30 day trials including McAfee and Adobe as well as Xbox and a three months Game Pass.
The processor is AMD Ryzen 7 running at 4.2GHz. There is 16GB of memory and it has a 1TB SSD which is 952GB with 892GB available on start up.
While specialist reviewers will give lots of details of speed and how fast numerous games run my own favourite is the time it takes to reset which is Preparing, Resetting and Installing. This not long ago would have taken between 1 and 2 hours here is took 12 minutes, this is 2 minutes faster than anything else I have reviewed.
