Working Through Clutter

Hidden Object fans, especially those with a more twisted sense of enjoyment, have a treat to look forward to with this next product.

Developed by Joe Cassavaugh, the Clutter Puzzle Magazine 17, entitled Flower Power, is now available in Collector's Edition format.  As with the earlier version of this product which I looked at previously, this collection of puzzling challenges consists of 1,800 puzzles and features a Main Quest of 100 levels to test your searching skills.

This Puzzle magazine offers the player various adjustable settings.  Profiles can be created to record the progress of different players.  The product's various challenges can be displayed in a choice of European languages with volume, timer and speed of hint settings.  As those new to this game may find its layout a little confusing, the game comes with a number of identifying icons.  This product also features a built-in user guide to help ease your way into the manner in which its various puzzles operate.

With this new edition of Clutter challenges, Joe has introduced some new Petal puzzles, Stackers and certain new Mah-jong modes into its collection of 1,800 addictive puzzles.  As the prospect of tackling 1,800 puzzles might be regarded as rather daunting, Joe has split the puzzles into 20 different categories.  However before you can take your pick from these various categories you are required to tackle the first five levels of the Main Quest before being allowed a freedom of choice with the different categories.

Whichever category is your target, the Clutter you will face will present a variety of issues that you may need to take into consideration.  In some cases the Clutter may be stationary but not always so static.  An item can rotate on its own axis or the whole collection could travel around the screen.  While colour and size may be compulsory requirements with some puzzles, you do need to be aware that this is not always the case and there will be occasions when some items will be shown in different colours and/or displayed in different sizes.  Some puzzles will require pairs of matches to be made or even in larger groups with at least one of the matches being featured on a separate banner.  As with the puzzles, you do need to be adaptable when making selections.

While featuring plenty of puzzle solving, I feel that this product is best suited to fully paid-up members of Hidden Object game play who cannot get enough of this particular genre of action.  I downloaded my copy of the title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £15.31.  The game Requires a 1.6 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 662MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
