I have looked at Deezer several times over recent years, the reason I keep looking is that they continue to enhance their offerings.
They have long had a feature that allows you to find the title of a playing tune from the playing notes – providing the innovation is not too far from the original - now they have a new feature that allows you to find the title when all you have is some of the lyrics.
Many years ago I was the first to guess in a phone in competition the title of a well-known Ella Fitzgerald tune that famously only mentions the title towards the end and like many tunes you know you know it but are franticly going ahead in the lyrics to get there before Ella does.
Last year Deezer integrated the lyrics with Chromecast so those with a passable voice could sing along. However that in itself will not help but if you know a line or two of the song but for some reason you cannot bring the title of the song to mind, this will. Another way this new feature is with ‘ear worms’ which is when a snippet you have heard just goes round and round in your head and being able to play the tune may help to remove it. Of course if all you have is something like ‘I love you baby’ will bring up thousands of possible tunes but something a little more unique will quickly narrow it down to only a few possible tunes.
Another feature that could be of interest is Podcasts, here they have four extra Genres from Intimate Stories, Storytelling, Interviews and Documentaries any of which could fill that spare time.
If the Podcast is dragging there is an option to change the speed it plays at so you can skip quickly to the bit that interests you the most. You can even slow it down to enable you to cover those hard to follow accents.
This feature lets you slow the Podcast to 10% and increase it to up to 300%. This feature is current available to use for Android users.
Another useful item is if you have ever deleted a playlist you did not mean to, fear not providing you discover this within 30 days if can be recovered.
