click image to enlargeMonopoly Cardiff is stated as suitable for anyone aged eight and over.
A good solid board folded in four so that it can fit in the box, I remember the original was only folded in two but the box itself was separate with the pieces, the money and the Chance and Community Chest cards, now all in the box. I am pleased to the playing pieces remain the same except that are all chromed.
The houses are still green and the hotels still red, the box has compartments for all the board streets etc. rather than everything being spread out on a table or the floor. Mind you the unfolded board is 50x50cm so you need a large table and probably another 27cm for the banker to store the place names by colour.
Only one station space on the Cardiff board the others are Cardiff Airport, Cardiff Bus Station and Cardiff Bay.
The colours are a little different for the various groups, brown, light blue, two shades of red split by orange, next is yellow, green and finally dark blue.
The currency cost is in 'M' and shown on the board as well as the card they very from brown at 60M to dark blue Cardiff Castle at 350M and Millennium Centre at 400M.
Something like this is a great way to know a new area and Cardiff is the capital of Wales.
The rules are spread over a long double sided strip 70cm long and 16cm tall.
The front cover of the box calls it a fast-dealing property trading game, which of course it is. I just remember many long games and as you get more proficient the games do get a lot longer.
