Solitaire continues to be a popular subject for new entries in the computer gaming release schedules. The latest such entry to come my way is entitled Solitaire Quest – Love Blossoms. Using the popular Solitaire method of removing various card layouts by creating chains of cards that are one higher or lower than the previous selection, the story line of this game is based around building up a flower store on a tropical paradise island.
This quest enrols you to help your aunt set up a flower shop business by working your way through 200 levels of Solitaire game play. You will need to follow a trail of levels spread out over a beach scene. Once chosen the level will switch to an appropriate scene overlaid by a Solitaire layout of cards. By removing cards by the proscribed method, you will release gems and coins stored behind the layout. These rewards will become important during latter stages of the game when building up and financing stages of the flower business.
From time-to-time the game will display cards that feature overlays. These overlays could involve an ice layer, ivy coverage, strangling roots, bound by chains or locked by a padlock, covering of fire or a wax seal protection. Depending upon the type of additional coverage, a different action will be required to assist in its removal. For example frozen cards will need to be selected twice while ivy will need the assistance of a pair of shears. You can chop roots with an axe or use a hammer to break a strand of chain and unlock a padlock with a key. A bucket of water can put out a fire and wax seals will need to be removed in order.
At the conclusion of each level, which brings an additional reward of three stars, you will be automatically switched to setting up the flower store mode. At this point you can make use of any gems earned to purchase the furniture required by the shop before building u a supply of stock. You can also discover more about Jack a friend of your aunt.
The coins earned during the clearing of Solitaire levels can be put to use by purchasing boosters from the product’s built-in shop. Among the boosters available for purchase are an Undo feature, Joker card, Wild card, Shuffle feature plus an option to remove a random or selected card from the display.
To boost your cash balance, you can take part in earning more coins by tackling four Hidden Object games that become available once you have build up the required number of stars for completing levels. Each of the Hidden Object interludes will consist of three challenges. You will need to find a text list of items from a scene and then find items represented by silhouettes before searching for a set number of a particular type of item.
This product does have one feature which I found a little annoying. After almost ever scene you are presented with a still image of a big wave taking position of centre screen for around 30 seconds. This game can be downloaded from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99. System requirements call for a 1.0 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 1.16GB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
