What do you do when you need that special Christmas Card, what do you do when that photo needs attention, this and lots more are covered by the Christmas Creativity Pack at a very small price.
Installation from the CD in the DVD case took only a few minutes and took around 140MB of hard disc space. It creates an icon on the desktop and you can optionally install a photo editor and lots of extra fonts, I resisted the temptation to install the fonts.
Once you click on the icon you have four choices, New, New from Template, Open and Open Last.
Its probably easiest to create New from Template as this shows you the sort of thing you can do. There are eight choices Greetings Card, Envelope, Newsletter, Letterhead, Label, Flyer, Gift & Business Card and Invitation & Post Card.
Normally at this point I check through all the sections but probably go into most detail about Business Cards. So as not to be too predictable I shall go into detail on Greetings Cards being as this is marketed as a Christmas Creativity Pack.
When making a card from a template you have two choices A5 with top fold and A5 with side fold. Then you get all the possible choices of type - deep breath.
Anniversary, Blank, Birthday, Congratulations, Easter, Fathers Day, Get Well, Halloween, Hanukah, Seasons, New Year, Mothers Day, Party, St Patricks Day, Valentines Day and Business, some have just a few choices but by far the largest section is Christmas with no less than 31 sub themes and most have several selections.
Once you have selected a design its easy to change or manipulate the content. Of course sometimes there is nothing suitable, so starting from a blank also allows a lot of manipulation. If you want to import a photo then use the supplied photo editor (should you not already have a favourite package) while this is no world beater it certainly allows basic changes to be made.
The package contains more than 2500 images, more than 1500 backgrounds and also more than 25 background sets so you could match, cards, letters and invitations. I did not install the fonts but it is said to have 400.
It has a built in address book so it is possible to get it to even print the envelopes, sadly you still need to stick on the stamps.
This DVD box also contains a freepost card to obtain a starter pack from Avery (the label people) and it contains FREE 1 x T-shirt transfer sheet; 1 x Window pic; 1 x Fantastic Plastic for creating personalized jewellery and key rings; 1 x A5 Greeting Card; 1 x sheet of Colour inkjet mini labels; 1 x sheet of small round stickers. All this available with a product that costs £9.99. Available from dealers or direct from www.avanquest.co.uk
