Certainly the smallest and lightest MP3 player I have ever used, the good news does not end there as you can also record to the unit using the built in microphone.

The Creative Labs MuVo Nx is a 128MB MP3 player and recorder all in one unit. It is very small at less than 3 inches long and the total weight with battery inserted is less than 50 grams.
If you have MP3 files on your PC then connect the unit like any USB flash drive, Windows automatically installs the driver and now you have an additional drive letter in My Computer. Drag and drop files or folders to or from the unit. No battery power is needed for this process as that is supplied via the USB port.
I managed to fit an assortment of MP3 files totalling 140 minutes to the unit. Playback was fine using the supplied ear pieces but it can also be played using speakers and this was also good.
Battery life from the one AAA battery was stated as 11 hours, I got 12 hours and 20 minutes.
The unit has a one inch long LED that displays track information and elapsed time, in reasonable light it is fine but for low light conditions there is a backlight. A jog wheel and three other buttons provide the controls.
Using it a memo recorder was okay once you have got the hang of the controls, the files it makes are .wav so they are quite large at around 1MB a minute but useful in meetings. When in voice recording mode the display tells you the remaining recording time available.
The box also contains a CD with a range of programs and utilities for transfer of files but with drag and drop working why bother, providing you already have an MP3 ripper. More useful items in the box are a wrist strap for the keen jogging types. A pen type plastic sleeve so you can clip the unit in your pocket is also supplied, along with some other bits and pieces.
Perhaps one of the more important side uses is the ability to use it as a 'mule' to transfer files between PC's like a flash drive. So far lots of good points now the main drawback it is not cheap with a price tag of around £112. However should you need to transfer files between PC's that are larger than a floppy disc then maybe your boss will buy it for you for the 'mule' qualities of course.
