When recently reviewing the Mixo Games' title of Twistinfo Turtle Bay, I noticed a reference to the company's earlier offering of Twistinfo - Bird Paradise.  Following up this lead I was able to download and check out this puzzle solving offering which arrives in Collector's Edition format.  This product bundled various bonus items to supplement the main game action and forms the focus of this review.

As with the Turtle Bay offering, this Bird Paradise title is based on a tropical island.  This location is currently being afflicted by natural disasters that involve devastating storms that have caused havoc to the home environment of the colourful birds which reside there and play their part in the attractiveness of the island.  As well as the birds, the human community, and their homes, has also been badly affected as a result of the storms.  In order to repair the damage and destruction caused by the hostile weather conditions, you will need to carry out certain tasks which are presented in the guise of a variety of mini game puzzles allowing you to earn the finances needed to pay for the repairs.

The game features two different formats of the Hidden Object style of game play.  Sometimes the game will make use of the clutter approach as items are scattered around the screen area waiting for you to perform the necessary task.  This is achieved by clicking on matching items so as to clear the area and reveal five black pearls.  These valuable items can be used to replace those lost by a grandfather during the confusion caused by the storm.

Rather than looking for pairs of items, sometimes your task will require you to look for specific groups of items such as leaves, dogs, cats, acorns, cars or boats.  These groups are indicated on labels which appear from time to time.  There will also be a label requiring you to find five Bingo balls from the cluttered screen.

Completing Bingo cards forms yet another task that makes a regular appearance.  The completion of Bingo cards will involve selecting numbers which appear on a snake like line of moving numbered balls before it reaches the safety of its destination.  The completion of this task brings the reward of one or two pieces of a map that will show the location of bird nests with their precious content.

In order to rescue the eggs from a nest you will need to remove pebbles that are covering the content.  You will need to match the design on the pebbles with those displayed on a moving stream of balls travelling around the scene.  Once cleared of pebbles, the eggs can be collected.

Many of the required tasks bring a financial reward in the form of coins.  Some of the coins can be used as an entrance fee to take part in various mini games from which you can earn even more coins to increase your bank balance.  This resource can then be used to purchase Collectibles to help restore aspect of the island and repair it from the damage caused by the storms.

All the various sections of the game are linked together by various cut-scenes featuring a static island who can only communicate with printed dialogue.  When the main game has been completed you will gain access to 20 bonus mini games, various wallpaper and music tracks.

I downloaded my copy of this game from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £15.54.  The game requires a 1.6 GHz processor with 2048MB of RAM and 650MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
