While the "Christmas" (stating the overall theme) and "Meow" (two cats are involved), I have no explanation for the "Suddenly" part of this game's title.  You can make up your own mind as to the reason IKi Games decided on the wording for this title.  Suddenly Meow Christmas is classified as a Match 3 title that casts you in the role of Mary who takes her two pet cats with her when visiting her Grandma's house.

Setting the scene for this festive journey, you can create profiles so that different players can tackle the game in a choice of European languages.  Volume levels can be adjusted for background music and sound effects with the game being viewed in a choice of resolutions including full screen at 1920 x 1080.  When playing the game you have a choice of selecting from six different mouse pointer cursors to interface with the action and cat's behaviour.

This game is spread over 90 levels as the two cats (Tim and Spook) set about exploring different areas of Grandma's house in their search for food and other items of interest.  These areas are represented as Match 3 grids which are filled with no end of cells and goodies that the cats must make use of to satisfy their curiosity and any hunger pangs they have.  Depending upon the grid, one of the cats will be assigned the task of hunting down the food, in the form of fish, or boxed presents while the other cat enjoys some sweet dreams.

These items will generally be placed near the edges of the grid and you will need to create a pathway over which the cat can automatically travel to reach its designated target.  The pathway is created by the familiar process of swapping adjacent tiles.  In some cases, obstacles will block the way or morphing object will explode and disrupt matters.  As the food and presents appear in several location in their grid, further pathways will need to be created especially as parts of a pathway will tend to disappear over time. I often found that the software was more apt at spotting pathways than myself.

At regular intervals, after the completion of a few grids, you will be challenged to complete a mini game puzzle.  Appearing randomly, the mini game could be selected from a Hidden Object scene, matching halves of items, finding pairs of face down cards or putting sliding images back together to form a scene.  You will also have the opportunity to spend your earnings to help decorate Grandma's house and maybe repair any damage caused by the cats. 

I found that my game plating style prove hard to adapt to the needs of this game.  You can download this title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.This title can also be downloaded from Big Fish Games priced at £8.18.  The game requires a 2.0 GHz processor with 3072MB of RAM and 343MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
