RIC Chassis Little Racing Car

A remote control car for a Fiver

We picked up two of these little racing cars at the Stuff Live show last week.

I have mixed feelings about it.  On the plus side our two daughters have never had so much fun out of a £5 toy.   The car is tiny.  Just matchbox size and wizzes around really quite fast for its size. Somehow for girls that makes it somewhat cuter than the traditional thing.   It has the advantage of only needing batteries in the remote handset.  The car is charged up by slotting it onto the top of the remote.  This also gives you a handy place to put the car in downtime'.  Removing the - where is the remote for this car problem!

On the negative side we seem to keep breaking the things and only taking them apart and putting them back together again - building brick style - seems to get them back on the go.  So we've spent almost as much time fixing them as playing with them.

On balance though, for a short life pocket money toy - and as a parent - anything that keeps the kids that excited for hours is well worth £5 and a little bit of tinkering with!!

I can't help but wonder if the £10 versions would have been better.
