The Canon DR-M1060ii measures 41x33x46cm with the input and output trays open; it is 41x23x11cm with them closed.
The power input and the USB connection – lead provided - are side by side back left corner, the controls on the unit are on the right side of the top in a vertical line. The exception is a slider on the front edge when you choose U-turn or Straight as the image path.
The Setup Guide has two sides in English but this – after inserting the rollers – is just the site to download the software from plus connecting power and USB leads to your computer and turning the scanner on.
This is described as a ‘Department Scanner’ and to give basic information it is capable of up to 120 IPM (60 PPM) scanning speed. There in an 80 sheet capacity ADF capacity. It has a recommended daily scan capacity of up to 13,000 scans.
If you have the need to scan lots of items – not just A3 as I lined up a dozen A4 items – and they were done in a matter of seconds.
If you are scanning thicker items like plastic cards then you have a choice of straight through rather than the normal U-Turn you just need more room behind the unit for the former.
The software can perform a number of things like Text Enhancement, Deskew Correction and other annoying things that might be on originals.
While my thoughts normally go to having the ability to print, scan and copy in one unit my overall use of any of these options is not huge but should you have the need to scan large amounts of paper this is certainly the tool to do the job or jobs quickly.
