Recently I received some news that could appeal to those who are customers of EE and pay on a monthly basis.  Following a recent agreement between EE and Amazon, new and existing EE pay monthly mobile customers will be able to make and receive hands-free call using their Alexa devices that are arranged around the home.  Not unnaturally, this service will require an appropriate smartphone hosting the Amazon Alexa app. an EE mobile monthly account and an Alexa device such as the Echo Dot.

Once the set-up has been completed, there should be no reason why the customer should miss out on calls whatever they are doing at the time.  Alexa will announce the incoming call from whoever it is and the customer can then respond by telling Alexa to answer the call or reject it if that their wish.  Customers will still retain the option to answer the call themselves using the smartphone is that is more convenient.  Calls can be made through the use of voice commands using address book details or just my speaking the appropriate mobile or landline number of the recipient.

No charge will be made for the set-up and service.  Calls will come out of the customer's monthly allowance with calls being charged at the standard rate.  In addition I should add that EE has announced that, due to the current Coronavirus situation, any visits to NHS sites and calls to 111 will be free of charge.
