Having recently told you about a conventional watch whose straps are made from recycled plastic and the watch is solar powered. Here we are right up to date with a Smart Watch that can do almost everything while linked to your SmartPhone, so far I have discovered 16 different faces for the watch, some just tell the time others do much more with the Wear OS App.

It has a 42mm face with a rubberised strap, it weighs 48grams. It is quite thick at .9mm there are three buttons on the right edge.
There is a fold out 10.5x10.5cm card, three sides of this are useful, Charge and Power on, Download and Pair and Useful Tips these end with two web sites one for the watch and the other for Wear OS the operating system.
While the Charge and Power on bit was easy enough using the supplied 1 metre long USB to magnetic connection that attaches to the back of the watch. Downloading and pairing was also straightforward for the Wear OS app from either iOS or Google Play store and reassuringly an image of the Skagen Falster 3 appears on your SmartPhones screen.
The centre button allows you to change watch faces and enter all the various choices available as well as the settings menu.
Now unless what you require is answered by a FAQ you are very much on your own.
While not all watches that Wear OS support have ‘heart rate’ monitors you have to work out how this works for yourself. From my tests this seems to be a background rate, so those who expect an instant reading are out of luck. It give a rate for a period of time which for some maybe what they want.
You can discover this for yourself when in use, why however is there no manual available to download.
Changing the face shown is fairly simple via the Settings menu, some of the offerings are ingenious and probably a good talking point.
World Time shows up to four zones on the face possibly useful for a World Traveller.
Weather gives the current time the current weather and below that the weather expected for the next two days with temperature minimum and maximum as well as a symbol for rain/cloud/sunny etc.
Others that show more than the time and date are Google Fit, Heart Rate and Health, the latter includes your step goal, steps done and how far you have covered in miles.
The stated battery life between charges is 24 hours plus. The Google assistant can work allowing you to keep your SmartPhone in your pocket and you can also make and receive calls with your watch.
A nice idea but unless you know which button does what and how to wear the watch you are unlikely to get the results you may want or in the case of the heart rate NEED.
At the time of publication the Skagen Falster 3 is available from Amazon for £237.15 with a leather strap.
The watch is also available with the Silicon strap as I was sent for £279.
