Shocking Roulette fantastic for child discipline

This cheap game for adults has an added benefit when used with children.

I bought Shocking Roulette from the Gadget Shop at Xmas as a present for a friend because a) it was cheap (£12) and b) I've never bought that friend anything normal before so why change now?

After unwrapping the present and several drinks later we had a go at it.  It's simple in concept - 4 slots to cater for your finger and those of up to 3 friends and a button that you press to start it off.  Lights flash and a sound keeps you in suspense as you wait to see who is going to get the electric shock.

Sadly for me, my friend was more with it than I suspected and after several goes of seemingly getting away with it I realised that they were cheating by holding their finger above the touch pad.  The shock isn't massive but it's enough to jolt up your arm and make you wish you hadn't lost the round.

Which brings me onto children.  When one of your kids is disobedient you can deal with them individually but what do you do when more than one are playing up and you want to discourage it?  2+ screaming kids is no fun when you're trying to do something else.  Shutting them in their room isn't very effective, nor are many other threats that kids become used to.  But what about if you whip out your Shocking Roulette and force a round on them?  Only one of them is going to get zapped but I suspect it'll be the only time that one child messes about, and the statement: "stop disobeying or I'll get the Shocking Roulette out!" will have a magical effect on them in the future.  I'm sure the NSPCC would have something to say about that, but hey, it's a good alternative to smacking ;-)
