Test and Improve your Memory
Around 110MB of hard disc space required for installation and the CD still needs to be inserted when in use.
I found this a hard product to follow, but then I suppose any package designed to improve your memory should cause you to struggle. It lists 12 highly interactive and fun games not my words, I tried them all and while I could usually see what was being attempted I did not really enjoy the experience.
The stated aims of the package are to Reinforce Memory Capacities, Develop Memorisation Strategies, Develop Logic and Language Skills and Sharpen Mental Agility.
Any number of people can use the product but there is no multi player capability. You log in each time and it keeps records for each participant.
Even though I used the package quite a lot I never felt it was improving me in any way.
Driving Test Success Road Signs
Many many years ago I used to be a driving instructor, well before the longer test and certainly long before the two part test came in. As far as the Highway Code was concerned I rarely saw that marked on a failure sheet and only once in over 20 years teaching was it the only item marked.
Now road signs are only a minor part and people who are taking such a test all seem to say hazard perception is the hardest part. On the face of it seeing a road sign in situation is a lot easier than a bare sign around 15x10cm in a book of signs.
Although this product focuss (no pun intended) on road signs there is a section that covers hazard perception and even I have to admit seeing a short video and being asked a question on it is not that easy. I believe there is another Focus Product for hazard perception.
This product has four parts, first the Road Signs Database and this can show just the sign (the old way) the sign in situ (the new way) and in a lot of cases in a video, this latter way helps to show a likely use and even helps perception. The second is Road Safety for Children a worthy section but unless you are a large family would you buy it for that?
Parts three and four are a quiz and a board game, if you are studying alone the computer can be your opponent in the board game.
A full install takes 435MB and you still need to leave the CD in the ROM to use it.
