Bayan 3 iPod Dock and MP3 Speaker

The Bayan Audio 3 speaker dock measures 29x22x17cm. Tthose are maximum figures as the first 10cm of the unit is the tweeter and below this the dock for your iPod or iPhone and this is only 8cm deep at the top and base with the central portion only 1.5cm thick.
The quality of the sound is entirely due to the fact that almost all the unit is made of wood to give its excellent tone.
There is an adjustment screw behind the iPod dock to suit almost any iPod or iPhone so no plastic trays to fit in.
The other connections and controls are on the back, power and audio for Tablet, Auxiliary input, DC input and finally two small buttons to adjust the volume. The rest of the controls are on the supplied twenty two key remote.
The remote is powered by a single 2032 watch/clock battery (supplied) that fits in the base of the remote control. On top of the unit is a touch sensitive power switch, red when power is on but the unit off and blue when the unit is on. You can also use the remote to switch the unit to and from standby.
I found each time that power is added it defaults to iPod mode so if you are Tablet or Auxiliary mode you need to press a button on the remote, this is the only way to change from iPod mode so do not lose the remote.
There are separate Bass, Treble and Volume controls only the latter can be adjusted from the speaker unit so again don’t lose the remote.
As far as iPod control goes you can skip back and forward using the remote and also pause and change song order.
There is an instruction manual but it applies for all the different models in the Bayan range so do check the paragraph applies to your model. As only two sides cover getting started surely these could be changed to suit individual models. One of the most expensive things for any product is technical support and far fewer queries will happen when the basic instructions are clear for any product and thus saves both the user and manufacturer time.
While this is intended mainly for iPod or iPhone you can use the Auxiliary input to give iPad or MP3 player support.
I have mentioned more than once Tablet support, when you attach your iPad or iPhone with the unit powered you will also charge them. The same applies to your Tablet and by using the audio socket you can input and use the Bayan speaker to play sound through its speaker.
I mentioned above that the touch sensitive button shows red or blue, it can also show white when you use the Beans special voice mode and believe me if you are listening to speech you not only notice but appreciate the difference.
Shortly you get a review on another product called ‘Cocktail Audio X10’ and the Bayan was one of two different speaker systems that I used to output from that device. The other being a pair of quite powerful speakers. While there was some difference the Bayan wins solely because it is so portable and easy to move about.
Doing my searches found The Bayan 3 for £99.99 with free delivery from the first link below.
