While you may have your own ideas regarding how to carry out this particular task of universal proportions, the guys at LGT SIA believe Erik and his team of willing workers have a solution.  This particular solution consists of a mixture of fire, water, earth and air spirits working together to restore the sun and bring back life to a world struggling to survive.  You have the chance to put this idea to the test in the form of Spellarium 11 with its 90 Match 3 levels and an assortment of mini game puzzles to test your skill ability.

Spellarium is a game that places you in an environment that has adjustable levels of volume for background music and sound effects.  With full screen viewing and a custom cursor, you have a choice of Relaxed, Time Limited or Moves Restricted play area.  Set against a desolated background scene, the Match 3 action sets you the task of collecting ten gold coins and the removal of coloured tiles from a single or linked grid arrangements to complete each level.

While in many instances, the removal of coloured tiles and gold coins can be collected by swapping two adjacent tiles, various grids often feature a range of other methods to carry out the necessary tasks to complete the level.  An occasional cannon will appear ready loaded and primed ready to fire.  By creating groups of four and more tiles you will be rewarded with dynamite and rocket ships with the latter capable of hunting awkward to get at required coins. 

Often an action carried out in one part of the grid will cause changes to occur in another part of the grid.  Completed grids will brings a financial reward which will be automatically used to carry out the necessary work needed to restore the failing star.  This restoration work tends to take place in the background

At varying intervals the steady diet of Match 3 game play will be interrupted by an appearance of a mini game puzzle.  You could be asked to put together irregular shaped sections of an image or spot the difference between two similar scenes.  Other puzzles involve tackling a Mah-jong board layout, play a hand of Solitaire or move blocking obstruction to allow a key elements to escape from an area.  As with the Match 3 grids, completing a puzzle will bring a reward that can be used to deal with the sun's problem.

I downloaded my copy of Spellarium 11 from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  This game is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £7.86.  The game requires a 1.6 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 82.1MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
