Jewel Quest Match 3

Join a treasure hunt for a pirate treasure as you complete multiple levels of Match 3 game play.

Based on the Jewel Board concept of game play, SQRTS has come up with the Jewel Quest Match 3 Adventure title.  As the game’s title might indicate, this offering brings together elements of Adventure and Match 3 type game play with the action being wrapped into a treasure hunt with all that this entails.

Usually with a game of this genre you might be expecting to face around 100 or 120 levels of Match 3 action but that is not the case with this title.  The game spreads itself over 300 levels that will lead you through 10 specific locations that you need to work through, starting with the Town of Tremor, as plans are put into action to lay the groundwork and start the treasure hunt.  You then need to complete chapters entitled Cruise Towards Adventure, Faraway Shores, Into the Wild, Grasped by Greed, Jungle Trails, Like Father Like Daughter, The Ancient Paths, Value and Worth, and Sailors Showdown.

As the major part of this game involves Match 3 action, lets examines this part first.  Taking up a screen position will be a grid populated with various shaped and coloured gems.  The grids will be sandwiched between details of the challenged to be completed on the left and available power-ups on the right.  Actually the power-ups have been renamed as Boosters and remain available until they are used rather than disappear when the grid challenge is completed.

Rather than just stick to the type of tiles or gems to be removed, the challenge associated to grids can also feature specific tasks and the use of various facilities earned within the grid.  Under normal circumstances, you will need to follow the familiar Match 3 method of creating groups of three or more tiles by switching two adjacent tiles or gems.  The group then disappears and is replaced by other tiles or gems falling downwards.  By creating groups of four or more tiles or gems, you will be rewarded with on-screen power-ups of flintlock pistol or a canon ball.  These power-ups can be used to clear away tiles or gems to help complete the grid's challenge.

As you progress through the various levels or stop-over points with their individual challenges, you will be introduced to additional elements and required tasks.  These features will need to be overcome, either through your clearance skill or management of the purchase and use of Boosters, to complete levels that could include searching for map pieces, putting together image clues or setting up sequences so that multiple tasks are completed simultaneously in order to find the hidden Whitebeard’s legendary treasure as you face uncharted waters and encounter pirates.

Interspersed through the game’s ten chapters will by a series of linking cartoon style scenes,  These scenes will tell the story of your screen persona as she attempts to find the treasure.  You can download this title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  The game requires a 1.0 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 315MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
