Picture a normal mid sized ice cube tray and place another upside down on top of it and you arrive quite close to what you have with IceBreaker Pop. There is more to it including the ability to keep other items frozen for longer.

The IceBreaker Pop measures 20x11.5x3.5cm at one end and 5cm at the top end. However a normal ice cube tray is open here it is closed – sealed - so does not need to be laid flat while freezing and no chance of taking in tastes from other items.
The instructions as received by me were on a brown cardboard sleeve in the now popular illustration format.
Being old I did not find them that easy to follow and a couple of attempts were required to get the desired results. Do not overfill or you just get one very large block of ice, this is ideal if you want to use it as a cool box cooler but not good for sticking in a drink. Perhaps some words would have saved my experiments.
The container expands and then the unit needs a good squeeze and slight twist and these large ten sided cubes can be retrieved from the end of it once the rubberized bung has been moved to one side. They do last a long time partly because of their shape and partly there sheer size.
The tray makes eighteen cubes.
In my freezer I found around three hours was long enough for solid blocks and despite them having to exit from a hole 4.5x3.5cm they came out correctly.
When closed the width was as described between 3.5 and 5cm and when the handles on the sides are pulled the width is about 8cm this and the squeeze and twist motion is what extracts the single cubes from their freezing place and allows them to exit at the end of the container.
Even though I can now make cubes successfully every time it was a trial and error process and if this is to be a success for everyone first time either some words of explanation of maybe a YouTube video. There is a video on the purchase link at the end but that does not concentrate on the making of the cubes and more on the possibility of the cubes made in a normal tray being contaminated by tastes from other items in the freezer.
A nice idea and easy to use – once you know how – but better documentation is needed.
At the time I was sent this sample it was a Kickstarter campaign and this seems to have completed with a date of 2020 for availability in retail.
