The OnePlus 6T measures 15.5x7x.7cm and weighs 186grams. The viewable screen is 14.7x6.8cm which gives the notional diagonal imperial measurement of over 6.4inches.

The right side has a slider switch which goes between silent, vibrate and ring and this is far easier than swapping things in settings. Also on the right side is the on/off button with three second switch off and fourteen second switch on. The base has USB ‘C’ port for both charging and connection of an On The Go device. The left side has the volume rocker. I found volume levels when using the inbuilt speakers disappointing but via Bluetooth satisfactory there is no 3.5mm socket.

Once on the phone will show the normal service provider and battery level, Wi-Fi etc. on the top line together with a larger digital clock and day date underneath and nothing else until you swipe up and then recently installed Apps at the top on the screen and phone, messages, Chrome browser, camera and gallery in a line at the bottom of the screen with OnePlus and Settings on the line above. To access all the Apps just swipe up and everything is available in one screen just swipe up again for items not shown in the first 30.

As is becoming a feature there is a tiny notch cut into the top centre of the display for the Selfie camera, the rear has twin lenses in the centre of the black mirror finish back that are 1cm down from the top below these is the LED flash. I loved the camera that is far less complicated to use than some recent offerings. As an example if you switch to night mode from the words at the bottom of the screen a good clear image will be taken – providing you hold the phone still – and show you things you otherwise could not see, in my own home there is an unlighted passage off the hall that is totally dark at night where a few boxes are stored normally I would use a torch to select the one I wanted, taking a photo produced an image far more detailed than me waving a torch and all without a flash. I found this took around three seconds and then a couple of seconds to optimize.

While other higher featured phones might have this ability it is certainly not from the default screen that has options of Night, Portrait, Photo or Video.

The phone has Android 9, a Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, 16+20 MP dual cameras and 6.41 inch display.

Another nice feature is that for people like me who turn their phone off the options are near the thumb touch button to the right side of the screen so no second movement required for Power Off, Restart and Screenshot options.

This is high quality phone at a price that is competitive.
