click image to enlargeAs stated the Trust AYDA USB headset measures only 15cm from the base of the earbuds to the padded headband this can be increased by 2.5cm with the side expansion but some with larger heads might find them a little small. They are an on ear headset as the distance across the oval buds is 5cm side to side and 6cm top to bottom not enough to totally cover an adult ear.
I do not have a particularly large head but needed the full 2.5cm expansion for them to sit over the top of my ears.
The USB lead emerges from the base of the left earbud and is 1.8metres long, it ends in a USB plug and with some tablets only having a USB 'C' connection you would need an adapter.
The right earbud has a volume control.
There is what is called a 'User Guide' its a folded 12x7cm sheet open it, the left side has an illustration showing the USB lead being fitted to a USB port, the right side shows the microphone arm being lifted from its central position in front of your mouth to a point beside the headset where the microphone is turned off. I don't think I have ever seen a more basic User Guide.
I tested it on both a PC and a notebook using it not only as a set of headphones but also as a headset for some online video calls. The microphone is noise cancelling and I tested this on a couple of video calls and people still heard me clearly.
It would certainly suit older children and adults providing their heads are not to big. Sound quality both for voice and music was perfectly acceptable.
At the time of publication the Trust AYDA USB Headset is available from Amazon for just £29.99.
