HP Envy 6530e 3 in 1 unit

This is the latest printer, scanner and copier from HP. Quite small while still being able to print, copy and scan A4 documents. This is the second of their recent pay by the page offerings I have used, after three months of unlimited use up to 700 pages, extra cartridges will arrive before yours are empty.

It is 42x36x21cm add 14cm to the second figure the depth when you have extended the page catcher. The weight of the unit is just over 6kilos.

You can manually turn it on/off via a push button back left of the unit near the power lead, however you can set it up to automatically turn off after a set period of time. Manual start up is just over one minute, manual shut down around 10 seconds.

Once setup everything is controlled from an easy to read 5x4cm touch window, should you need it there is a help option. There are two LEDs just above this windows white and blue, the white to show its on and blue to show Wi-Fi is working.

After the three months there are several choices for the number of pages you can print per month and any you do not use are carried forward to the next month.

If your printing is mainly short black memos then other choices may be more economic for you, however should you print a lot of full page colour images then this is certainly the unit for you as you are charged per page and not by what ink you use. After the three month has ended if you prefer you can use only HP cartridges should you wish, rather than pay per page but compatible cartridges from other manufacturers WILL NOT WORK.

It is stated to print up to 10 mono pages a minute with the first page out in just over 20 seconds.

Colour printing is up to 7 pages a minute. 1200x1200 possible when printing from a computer.

Up to completely full A4 page printing minus 3mm on all sides is possible.

It can hold up to 100 sheets of standard paper.

The copying is 300x300dpi at up 8ppm in black and 3.5ppm in colour.

The scanning resolution is up to 1200DPI.

It is also stated that you can send faxes via mobile, it cannot receive faxes.

I would suggest you work out how many pages of what type you print, certainly if you print a good amount of colour pages then this unit is for you. You have to enter a payment method on setup but anytime before the end of three months you can cancel before any payment is taken.
