Continuing its Jigsaw Lovers series, Revills Games has released a Christmas based offerings.  As with the earlier entries in this series, this Christmas title is built around a story featuring numerous images that can be used as the source material for four different types of puzzle formats operating with user-defined settings.

When starting this game, there is a wide range of selectable features including an option to set up profiles allowing different people to partake of this title.  You can adjust volume level, background brightness, set snap sensitivity and preview opacity.  Other options include full screen viewing, rotate clockwise, a choice of mouse scrolling control and selecting from 28 background images to be used as the work area.

As mentioned earlier the puzzle aspect of the game is formed around a story spread over ten chapters that each feature 32 images arranged in four rows of eight scenes.  Initially only Chapter One will be accessible until sufficient progress has been made.  However there is an option to remove this restriction in the main setting feature. 

Once removed, you can then proceed through the story set in the village of Evergreen and featuring one of its residents called Clara who receives an unexpected package tied with a red bow.  The story then takes you on a journey to encounter a Bakery Secret, Tallest Spruce, Enchanted Toy Shop, Lonely Passenger and the Timeless Clock amongst others.  Along with its 32 images, each chapter will open with a brief narrated sequence as the story advances.

Once an image, from any chapter, has been selected you will have a choice of selecting from four puzzle types.  Initially that choice will be set at Jigsaw.  With this puzzle you can select from various amounts of pieces ranging between 42 and 1008 plus make a choice from the eight different shapes that depend upon their connection links.  Further options allow you to set in place a lock feature, apply a rotation feature and decide on a tidy, messy or scatter anywhere when the pieces are placed on the work area prior to completing the puzzle.

If you prefer working with tiles rather than Jigsaw pieces, you have a choice of Tile Swap, Split Tiles or Tile Rotation puzzle.  With Tile Swap you can select from six different tile groups and opt for an Easy, Medium or Hard difficulty level.  Split Tile settings let you select the number of tiles used, whether they are orientation vertically or horizontally plus the Easy, Medium or Hard levels.  Tile Rotation, which involves turning segments into in the correct orientation, has the same choice of settings as those at Tile Swap.  Completed images will be marked with a symbol placed in a relevant corner to signify their completion although they can be replayed with different settings.

Jigsaw Puzzle Lovers Christmas is available for downloading from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  It is also available from Big Fish Games priced at £8.04.  The game requires a 1.0 GHz processor with 256MB of RAM with 281MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
