The clue regarding this product, not surprisingly, can be found in its title. Alright the spelling might cause a little confusion but saying the title and you could get a clear indication as to what to expect from this offering Skyrocket UK. I am, of course, referring to the Skyrocket Blume product. Various versions of this particular offering are available with this review being based on the Skyrocket Blume Series 1 product rather then the Blume Dolls toy which formed part of the Dream Toys 2019 Top 12 Toys.
The product, or should I say "Toy", arrives in a small flowerpot type container. This container features a colourful decorated outer skin cover providing basic instructions of how to proceed, examples of what the child might expect to finish up with and the recommended method of removing the outer skin. This removal, using a pair of scissors, might be better left to a parent to reduce the possibility of accidental damage to either the child or flowerpot container.
Once the outer skin has been removed, to reveal a gold coloured flowerpot, the gardening aspect of the Blume product was almost ready to take over as a splash of water needs to be added to the flowerpot. However before this watering action can be carried out, you will need to remove a transparent cap which contains a set of instructions in picture format. These instructions also show images of the different Blume toys in the series. These various Blumes are classified as Mystical, Super Rare, Rare or Adorable. My review sample belonged to the Super Rare classification.
The cap also contains a small watering can for adding the water to the flowerpot. Both the filling of the can and the watering task is carried out by squeezing the body of the can. Before using this watering can you will need to remove another layer of protection. This is a metallic skin which needs to be peeled away and this act will give access to nine stickers which can be used to decorate the Blume after it has emerged from the flowerpot.
The emergence of the Blume follows the application of a small amount of water from the squeezable watering can. After a few seconds delay, the decorated hair style of the Blume will burst through the outer top layer, looking a little like soil, of the flowerpot. You might, as was required with my review sample, need to apply a little encouragement to ensure further progress to the appearance of the Blume by removing the remnants of the damp top layer that still remains.
The fashion conscious Blume doll can be removed from the flowerpot. With the application of a little pressure, the flowerpot will split down one side and reveal a number of surprise items to be used with the Blume figure sporting the high-rise hair style. You get a new two-piece outfit with shoes, plus a handbag, to dress the figure. There is also a circular item that could stand in for a mirror although you can not actually see any reflection in it.
Completing the package is a small friend figure to accompany the Blume toy. The various accessories, including the small friend, are of a size that could be swallowed by a young child. The outer packaging does contain a chocking hazard warning of this product deemed suitable by Skyrocket for children aged 3 and above. This problem apart, the Blume Series 1 will appeal to its targeted market. Expect to pay in the region of £10 for this product.
