Melitta LOOK Timer Coffee Machine

Image of author
Its nice to wake up to something cooking and while it takes a second person to be cooking food, coffee can be automated assuming your machine has a timer, even after a bad nights sleep the smell of coffee brewing can be a good incentive to rise.

At the rear is the 72cm long power cable.

The LOOK Timer is 35x23x20cm and everything you need to know to make coffee is available from the three buttons and small clock display to the right side of the front.

The majority of the front has the entry for the ground coffee at the top with the coffee pot below.

The top of the right edge of the front is the point where you insert water it has a clear front that is marked by 3, 6, 9, 12 or 15 small cups on the right side and 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10 large cups on the left. I drink my coffee from half pint mugs which my tests gave 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 in my mind. These figures are important as together with the middle button 'Calc' help you calculate the amount of coffee to insert in the machine as when you turn it on it will use all the water you inserted to make coffee. The 3x1.4cm clock display that has hour and minute buttons just below. The first button is marked 'Timer' when you first apply power this will light up showing 0:00 and when you press the hour button it increases till you get to the current time. If you then hold the 'Timer' button you then set the time you want the coffee to start brewing. This leaves the 'On/Off' button and pressing that will override any set time to start making coffee immediately.

In my tests both manual and set timed I found that four half pint mugs of coffee were produced in ten minutes from start to the final drops emerging from the coffee to the coffee pot.

The Look Timer manual is in twelve languages and explains everything fully even though the type is quite small.

Most Supermarkets now sell ground coffee or you can buy it by post where the people selling it cook the beans and then grind them on the same day they post them and then you are getting coffee as good as most cafes can produce.

The Melitta LOOK Timer machine comes with five filter bags that you insert the coffee in to.

The Melitta LOOK Timer is available from the link below for £60.00
