Building Camelot Castle

Rebuilding a piece of history may not be considered beyond your capability with the aid of this next title.

Suricate Software has a habit of developing games that feature a building construction element.  This next title from the company definitely falls into this category as you are provided with the means to design and build the fabled Camelot Castle while completing a series of Match 3 challenges and solving a selection of mini game puzzles.  This combination of Match 3 game play with castle creating aspect is entitled Jewel Match Origins 3 - Camelot Castle and is available in Collector's Edition format.

As well as creating profiles to record the progress of different players, you can make adjustments to various audio volume levels and brightness.    You can select from three modes of play, namely Relaxed, Move or Time limited.  Furthermore you can opt tor Normal, Advanced or Extreme level of game play as you tackle the game's numerous tasks.

The game is based on a series of Match grid levels that are laid out on a winding path of stepping stones.  You need to follow this path over its 120 levels in sequence.  These levels will hold a mixture of tiles, including gold, pieces, amulets, stars, pearls and even money which will be a requirement needed during the building process. Mixed in with this winding path of 120 levels are some mini games that give you a choice of taking a slight detour to tackle a different type of game play of continuing with the steady diet of grid clearance and task fulfilment.

Each level could feature a number of grids, often referred to as Rooms, which are linked thus allowing you to move between them.  They could feature a set path along which you need to guide an item, such as a model knight in armour, in order to release a required object.  Many grids will also contain areas with a golden cover and these areas will need to be clear to aid your progress.  In order to move along a path or clear a gold area, you will need to perform the usual Match 3 action of creating groups of 3 or more similar tiles by switching two adjacent tiles.

As you might find in a normal building, items required in one room to complete a task, such as a coloured key needed to unlock a coloured area, might be found in another room.  When moving between rooms, you might need to travel along a path or make use of a conveyor belt feature to bring a required feature to your current position.  Fortunately when a new feature is introduced to the grid layout, you will receive a message regarding its use and properties.

At the completion of a level, you will be given the option of continuing to the next level, trying for more rewards or, in some cases, looking for Collectible Grails which can be viewed in a special section.  Every so often , while travelling along the stepping stones, you will be given the option to play a bonus game or gather pearls to help pay for the building work.  You will also be allowed access to certain bonus games categorised as Spot the Different, Clutter Clearance or a Jigsaw puzzle.

While building the castle is a major task, you will also need to decorate its various areas within the castle itself.  There are five interior scenes that will need to benefit from your designer skills as you make use of various collected elements to decorate them.  Later more interior will be made available as you complete the Camelot Castle construction and move on to the Collector's Edition part of the game play.

Along with features such as  additional wallpaper, Spot the Different and other mini game puzzles, there is a further 80 levels of castle construction waiting to be tackled.  You will also gain access to a descriptive text regarding the game's different icons and a Strategy Guide which doubles as a Help facility.

Jewel Match Origins 3 - Camelot Castle, like Rome, will not be constructed in a day.  There are numerous day-long sessions here as you construct a castle that I have always imagined would be situated surrounded by rolling meadows but, in this version, is to found in mountainous terrain.  I downloaded my copy of the game from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  The game requires a 1.2 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 480MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
