Certainly not a quiet unit, this hard floor or carpet cleaner is at best loud and with the brushes going it can drown out most other things.
It is 112cm tall, 10cm deep at the base and 25cm wide at the brush bar.
The only instructions were printed on the box and related to the battery.
Assembly consists of joining the lower part of the body to the top of the body/handle, there is a single screw which is attached using something like a two pence piece to tighten. If you then insert the battery – it only fits one way – clicking home. You are ready to clean.
At the top front of the handle is a slider switch with three positions Off, Hard Floor and Carpet.
Step on the front part of the unit to enable the handle to move back into a cleaning position, in either the Hard Floor or Carpet position the two LED lights at the front of the brush bar come on and enable you to delve deep into dark recesses. Only when in Carpet mode does the brush bar turn and this immediately stops when something gets caught up, the normal one for me is shoe laces when I get to close to a shoe on the floor. This means the item can be easily extracted without damage to either the shoe lace or the cleaner.
The unit can also be used as a hand held (portable) unit by simply pressing one button half way down the handle to extract the portable part its measurements are 43cm long and nearly round at about 11.5cm. This is also where the dust and dirt are kept and again one button to empty there is of course a filter which should be cleaner occasionally. When not in use it will stand upright and unsupported.
A full charge should allow 50 minutes of cleaning however I found to fully recharge the battery took 8 hours.
In the upright format it is described as ‘steerable’ the first such unit I had with this claim was manufactured by another company who built their unit round a ball with the phrase ‘it’s so easy to use even a man can’ well this is also easy to manoeuvre around obstructions with just a flick of the hand.
Ideal for light cleaning and a quick once over of otherwise clean areas I found that some items were reluctant to be sucked into the unit and I sometimes needed to repeat the motion get them up. It has a wind tunnel effect and if you go along at a slowish speed then debris close to the sides of the brush bar also get taken in meaning the next sweep is that much easier. Brushes do protrude either side of the brush bar by 1cm.
However if you have a young family certainly they would need to be sound sleepers to allow you to clean at night as it is noisy especially with the brush bar activated on carpets.
