Available in two colours, when I delved into what colour I was sent I find it was listed as Pink but to me it’s more like a light violet. This is a rather nice and quiet powerful Laptop from a company known for producing top quality items.

It is 21.5x31.5x1.5cm the last figure is at the back, at the front it is only 1cm. The screen display is full HD 1920x1080 and the notional diagonal imperial screen measurement is 14 inches, it weighs 1428 grams.
The connections on the left side are 3.5mm socket for headphones and a USB port. The front is clear. The right side has micro SD card reader, USB ‘C’ port, USB port, HDMI out and finally charging socket for the mains lead and power adapter supplied, however it charges fine from the USB ‘C’ port. The rear is clear as the lid goes back to around 135 degrees and slightly overhangs. The base has two 28x.7cm strips front and back to keep the case off whatever you rest it on, there is a 23x4.5cm area towards the rear for ventilation and on the slightly sloped 2cm area at the sides is a pair of speakers. The top has the mirror finish on the 3.6cm round HP logo.
Open the lid to reveal the 30.5x17.5cm screen that is refreshing matt – always a sign of quality – the screen surround is .5cm at the sides .8cm at the top and 1.3cm at the base. In the centre of the top screen surround is a web cam.
The 84 key keyboard is light grey like the keyboard surround with the keys in a slightly darker grey there is no backlight so working in a badly lit area will require perfect touch typing. The alpha and numeric keys are full size with function keys reduced size. There is a 1.5cm margin either side of the keyboard with 2.5cm clear behind the keyboard, in front of the keyboard has the 11.5x7.5cm touchpad set centrally in the 10cm wrist rest area with a finger print reader set just in front of the keyboard towards the right edge.
Bootup is an amazingly fast 5 seconds, probably due to the Intel i5 processor running at 2.4.2GHz, however turbo boost technology can increase this to 4.2GHz, it has 8GB of RAM and is running Windows 10 Home, although I did all the updates offered to me during my review period it is still version 20H2 although my own PC is now running version 21H1. It has a 256GB SSD drive which has around 237GB free. Shutdown from desktop is only 2 seconds. The graphics are handled by Intel Iris X graphics. I watched several movies and even some of the tennis live from Wimbledon.
This is a very nice unit and should be on your shortlist with good screen colour and brightness and very fast switching between several open programs.
