The VAX Platinum Smart Wash comes in a 60x50x36cm box and the main installation is placing the handle into the base unit, having done that the water container fit in, everything is well documented in the instructions.
It is 107cm tall, 42cm deep at the foot and 33cm wide. Total assembly time is less than fifteen minutes and involves fitting the top tank and the handle that just clips in.
When you open the box you see a range of other items that come with their own accessory bag but the main unit just requires the assembly above adding some antibacterial solution in the specified tank along with water in the top tank.

Now the hard part for most, clear the room – or as much of it as possible – and then vacuum the area thoroughly before using the VAX Wash and Dry. Now with clean water and solution added to the appropriate tanks plug the unit into the mains and press the handle release pedal, slowly push the unit forward and water and solution will be placed onto the carpet, at the end of the forward stoke the reverse motion will start the removal of solution and water from the carpet.
Should you feel there is still solution and water on the carpet you can press the dry only button so that no new water is added to that area.
For faster drying go over the area already cleaned again with the dry only button depressed and your carpet should be dried even quicker.
In normal use WASH is the forward stroke and DRY the backward stroke.
Used in this way you should be able to move the furniture back – once dry – far quicker than with previous units that often took a day or more to get the carpet dry again.
For stained areas the spin scrub hand tool and the antibacterial tool also works with upholstery as well as your carpets.
I found this very efficient in my tests and for those of us with over cluttered rooms a dry day allows the extras to be moved outside as an empty room is far easier to clean than one where things need to move from side to side.
While I have used small units on my knees to clear stains very efficiently this upright unit does the job far more thoroughly and is a lot kinder on your knees.
