If you to travel with more than just a notebook

Some of us need more than just a small notebook on our travels. Perhaps ‘everything but the kitchen sink’ is a bit over the top but, here are two offering that may help you keep everything together.

Kensington Saddlebag Plus

Kensington are best known for there steel leads to keep items in place and to deter thieves. However they do other items and one such is the cavernous Saddlebag Plus.

It is 42x24x16cm when sitting around, however there are lots of zips and Velcro fastenings along with a shoulder strap strong enough to lift a lot more than this product.

The base has a solid drawer that not only gives you somewhere to store all your bits and pieces it also acts as added protection for your notebook should it accidentally be dropped. If the weight is just a little to much to carry over long distances it can even go on your back rucksack style.

I have been using this for a while and my only complaint is that I often lose things in the many compartments. It easily holds, notebook, PDA, phone, mouse and cables. Should you travel on some of the more modern trains that have power points by the seats, it even has room for the power supply and lead. The Kensington price is £49.99

APC TravelPower Case

This is a more weighty products in more ways than one. This model is more like a conventional business case, it has five different zipped compartments and numerous pockets within those compartments.

It comes with an International Plug Adapter Kit and a Power Adapter Kit that can charge multiple devices at the same time and even has two USB ports for devices that charge from USB. It means you can happily leave all your charging blocks at home and providing you can find a single power outlet (such as those of certain modern UK trains) then everything, phone, PDA, notebook and anything else you can think of can be charged simultaneously

The size is approximately 40x33x18cm when empty but with various zips having different positions I am sure it can expand considerably.

One side opens to reveal a mass of holders for all sorts of devices and those leads and other devices such as your mouse can be contained in a mesh webbing area on one side, there is also a pencil case type pouch to hold other oddments. The APC price is a not insubstantial £130, the model was the Ballistic Nylon 1300.
