The AOC U27P2CA flat panel screen measures 61x36x1.5cm; the viewable screen is 60x35cm which gives the notional diagonal imperial measurement of 27inches. It weighs 4.42 kilos.
There is almost no margin at the top and the sides – called frameless - and the bottom margin is 2.5cm. Towards the right are the five buttons to control the panel to their right is a white LED.
Its stand is 19x22cm and raises the screen in Landscape mode by between 2.5 and 17.5cm.
On the rear there are a line of connections all pointing down under a 2.5cm wide shelf, one side has the 3 pin kettle style mains lead with on/off flip button beside it. The other side has two HDMI, Display Port, USB ‘C’ USB upstream port next are two USB ports one is always on. Finally recessed 10cm up from the base on the side are the other two USB ports.
It can view screens in both Landscape and by a 90 degree twist in Portrait in this orientation the screen is lifted by between .5 and 3.5cm from its stand.
As always I try to improve on the ‘Auto’ display setting and in all normal conditions I fail.
The display can be up to 3840x2160 which is four times that of normal HD 1920x1080. There is around 40 degrees of back tilt and a little forward tilt so you can be seated almost anywhere to see clearly.
This quality product comes with a three year warranty.
The four port USB3 hub allows you to place the computer well away from your desk and connecting peripherals direct to the panel. The panel’s native resolution is 16:9. The response time is 4 milliseconds.
Having both HDMI and Display Port options is plus and during my test period I was able to use both without any problems.
The unit does have internal speakers and while 2W output may not sound a great deal for normal sounds while sitting nearby it is quite enough, the sound is clear and perfectly acceptable.
When looking at a panel for hours on end two things are important ‘flicker free’ and ‘low blue light’ this unit does both and so there should be no eye strain.
The USB ‘C’ has 65W available so not only should your laptop charge quickly you should be able to transfer large files efficiently as well.
The panel is IPS so you get lifelike colours.
The frameless sides mean that in an office environment more than one panel can be placed side by side for a seamless display.
At the time of publication the AOC U27P2CA panel is available from Amazon £369.99.
