The screen is 61x36x1cm and the stand is24x15cm in the shape of a wide ‘U’, it lifts the display by 10cm from your desk and it gives you plenty of both back and forward tilt.
There are a line of five buttons under the bottom right edge if you think you can get a better display than the ‘Auto’ offering. In reality you will probably only use the on/off button.
The connections are hidden under the back left behind a detachable part of the housing. So everything is neatly hidden away, another step on the way to nirvana.
Now the reason why it looks so good it is designed by F.A. Porsche so it’s not just this old man thinking it looks good.
It is a one piece unit with the stylish stand permanently attached to the display. Few panels have a cover to keep the caballing normally out of sight. This of course means that there is a power brick but this can surely be hidden as the mains lead is a good length and the part past the brick can be much thinner so not to destroy this panels lines.
The actual display is 2560x1440 which in itself sets it above the norm of 1920x1080.
The connections in a single line are HDMI, HDMI, Display Port and 3.5mm for those times when sound should not be heard.
OK so it’s not a gaming panel so speed of refresh could be faster but for work and viewing the odd movie or three it is great. The 75HZ refresh rate is good for most other things.
The panel has a frameless design with the top and sides having no border and just a slim one on the bottom.
Should you want to hang it on a wall you cannot as there are no VESA sockets and as stated the stand is not removable but most people who want to wall hang do so with units far larger.
Both the HDMI are 1.2 so no version 2 here.
The actual glass is of the panel looks fine and worked well in all lighting conditions.
I am no style guru but even I said this is a thing of beauty. The colours are great and the display was smooth even with fast moving graphics, yes as the might have gathered I liked it very much.
At the time of writing this AOC monitor is available from Amazon for £280.43 which for a designer panel is good value.
