First the figures the buds in their charging case where you should keep them when not in your ears weigh only 51 grams. Each bud weighs only 6 grams and I found initial linking was just a case of opening the case and pressing the button on the side of the case and the Honor Earbuds 2 Lite showed as a link in my Bluetooth settings, once linked each time I put them in my ears I got music immediately from my phone.
The outer box is 9.5x9.5x4cm which then contains the 5.5x4x2cm case that holds the buds and there is a USB to USB ‘C’ lead in the outer box as well as a User Guide and two extra pairs of Gels.
The buds themselves are 3.7cm long to the end of the piece that sits below the ear; the buds and gel are near circular at around 1.5cm and as stated weigh only 6 grams.
As soon as you replace them in their magnetic storage case they begin recharging so you should always have a fully charged set of buds.
The lid on the case flips up to allow removal or insertion of the buds, there is an LED on the front of the case which shines green, yellow or red according to the amount of charge left in the cases battery.
To charge the case – not the buds – plug the supplied USB to USB ‘C’ lead into the case and a USB port.
These look very like some very expensive buds sold by Apple.
I liked the sound quality and even wearing the buds for a longer period was not uncomfortable unlike some other buds, my ear canals are quite narrow and I was surprised how comfortable these felt, there are no wing tips so your ear canal is what holds them in place.
There are lots of controls that can be turned on/off in the App but joy of joys they work perfectly well without it for those whose main pleasure is just listening to music.
Should you want to utilize the ANC feature you will need to download the App and this has three settings On, Off and Aware.
The battery life is stated to be 10 hours between charges which means keeping them in use as when inserted back in the case they automatically charge I got close to that figure. The case should hold around 22 hours or charge.
The microphone worked reasonably well with calls but not so great in noisy environments as it’s a long way from your mouth.
The Honor Earbuds 2 Lite are available from OfficeOutlet for £69.99 and are also available from Amazon.
