Taking a slight diversion from its normal route of visiting different countries for its Puzzle Vacation series, Little Tiny Lion has targeted the Christmas Festival for its next release. Puzzle Vacation - Christmas 2023 combines the concept of Jigsaw and Swap puzzle game play with all manner of different customisable options to suit a variety of players.
The usual player adjustments can be made when customising the gaming environment. To the usual adjustable features, the game's developers have added a couple of extra options. With regards to the type of background music, you can select from Classical, Jazz or Country. You also have access to a scrollable list of individual pieces of music such as Snow Angels, First Noel or Christmas with a Twang to help get you in the mood for recreating Christmas scenes.
Giving the player the initial choice of solving a Jigsaw or Swap type of puzzle, this latest version of Puzzle Vacation features over 120 different scenes as its source material. These images can be viewed in a scrollable display that has sections categorised as Christmas Town, Nature, Animals, Décor, Treats, Others and Custom. The latter category can be used to import your own images for use as the source for Jigsaw and Swap puzzles.
Along with a free choice of the puzzle image, you can make selections regarding the type of puzzle, whether jigsaw or swap type, the number of pieces plus whether rotation was included and a choice of the amount of hints available. When selecting the type of pieces making up the puzzle, there is a wide variety of shape choices that can include animals. blobs, split circles, ripples, traditional shape, octagon, crosses and diamonds.
When putting together the pieces of the puzzle, the mouse cursor ca be used to manipulate the pieces into their correct positions. Along with the use of the mouse, a number of tools are provided to assist the player when working on different puzzles with its Christmas theme. These tools cover aspects of Home, Settings, Preview, Pop-up view, Zoom and Shuffle.
With its range of customisable features, this Jigsaw and Swap puzzle program should appeal to those who like to recreate scenes that have been broken up in different ways. The game requires a 2.0 GHz processor with 4096MB of RAM and 525MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
