Skullcandy Grind Wireless On Ear Headphone

These are lightweight on ear headphones weighing only 180grams. There is 3cm of movement in each arm and the measurements I am giving are when the arms are fully extended.

From the base area in between the earpieces to the top of the headband is 19cm, the earpieces themselves are circular at 7cm across and 3.5cm deep.

When I wear them I tend to use about half the expansion and being old I wear them in the old way on top of my head.

For people like myself lacking hair on top of my head the padded headband is important and the one supplied here is perfectly adequate to absorb any possible contact from the metal sandwich band. The top band is leather as is the earpieces soft covering.

Before I tell you about the sound quality of these Bluetooth or wired headphones a moan. Why does the box have to be destroyed to open. There are the normal circular discs of sticky material both top and bottom so once removed you expect to be able to open the box, not here are this is glued so the only way to get in is to rip the part perforated rip strip which then makes the box unusable, OK rant over.

A full charge from the supplied micro USB to USB lead will give around 12 hours of continuous playing time at a mid volume level.

There is a fold out sheet in sixteen languages with an illustration above each column to confirm the action this will perform so even if you did not speak one of the sixteen languages you should still be able to get going with the headphones.

There are three buttons on the side of the left piece, + O – with a dual colour LED just above them. At the base of this piece are two connections, micro USB for charging and 3.5mm socket for playing wired, this action can also be used to continue hearing music when the battery needs charging.

I normally only mention price at the end but here I think it’s needed to place the headphones.

There are items on the market in four figures mostly for engineers and the like. Others in the low hundreds upwards for enthusiasts and then those in the very low tens that are shall we say ‘basic’. These fall into none of those categories as they cost £69.

If you are using these to listen to MP3 sounds they are ideal you will get the whole range. I was also happy listening to higher quality sounds and also CD’s. I enjoy my music and for me at this price point the headphones give a good full sound all through the spectrum.

I did try them outside and in a quiet environment they should be fine but not battling London tube noise, remember these are on ear. I liked the light weight which means less to carry in your bag, I would have liked a carry bag as I have mentioned the deconstructed box is not suitable.
