"Suricate Software","Jewel Match Solitaire Seasons"As part of its Jewel Match series of game playing offerings, Suricate Software has released Solitaire Seasons title.  Available in Collector's Edition format, this digital Solitaire card game comes with a promise that it will take the player on a year-round adventure of Solitaire action.  This will involve 1,000 levels of card playing spread across ten different locations.

As you might expect, the game provides options to create profiles to record the progress of different players.  You can adjust volume levels and select from a choice of Normal, Relaxed, Timed or Hard difficulty settings.  Further selections can be made as you take your pick from various choices of card faces and back patterns plus the colour of gems that will be your reward for progress in completing Solitaire hands.  The game's environment can be set in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere in one of the four major seasons.

This title is based around a long and winding journey you must take that contain numerous Solitaire stop-over points that need to be tackled.  Layout of cards need to be removed by creating runs of cards that are one higher or lower than the previous card.  Adding certain difficulties to the process, some cards will feature a protective layer such as vines, padlock, chain, ice, ribbon, seals and an arrow that can change the value of the card with every move. 

The removal of such cards need to be carried out in different ways.  Some layouts will also be partially covered by a fog which will need to be blown away.  During the completion of these layouts, you will be rewarded by the collection of gems and coins.  The coins can be used to purchase useful tools such as a wild card, shuffle, Joker and remove card.  Serving a similar process, the gems provide the currency for purchasing elements for a specific scene that you are building.  Eventually you can build up a stock of over ten picturesque scenes.

As you travel along the winding path, and complete levels, you will unlock entries to different types of Solitaire game play.  These Solitaire types Supersize levels, Suit & Rank levels, Challenge levels, Match 2 levels and Sliding levels.  Once entry is gained then you will be required to play such a level.  You will also encounter Quests that involve completing a set of three different hands of Solitaire in order to receive a special adornment. 

If the main adventure challenge of completing the main Solitaire game action does not satisfy you, then the game does possess a number of bonus extras.  You can complete a variety of extra challenge levels, Supersize levels. Match 2 levels, Sliding levels and Suit & Rank levels plus build five extra castle scenes.  You will also gain access to more back patterns for use with the cards, wallpaper, trophies and items purchased from the game shop. 

I certainly enjoyed playing this game which will keep me going for several months.  I downloaded my copy of the title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $19.99.  You an also download it from Big Fish Games where it is priced at £15.47. The game requires a 1.2 GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 622MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and late.
