Tempting Solitaire

Fancy a quick game of Solitaire. This next title might suffice if you can ignore its tasty treats.

Yummyland Solitaire is a rather basic version of the traditional Solitaire card game.  The Yummyland part of the title refers to the game's graphics which are based on what a desert Chef may produce to appeal to sugar addicted customers as their food supply is presented against various mouth-watering and size increasing waist line backgrounds.

The game is spread over 100 levels which are sub-divided into ten chapters of Solitaire game play as the player needs to remove layouts of cards in sequence that follow a pattern of being one higher or lower than the previous card.  The game restricts you to a single player environment with new players taking on the progress made by earlier players with this software.  You do have the ability to adjust the volume level of both the background music and sound effects allocated to different situations used throughout the game.

You can also make a selection from four different decorations for the backs of cards used during the game.    However there is no choice on offer regarding the appearance of the face value of the cards.  While the royal face cards will display one of the Chef's special tasty treats, the lower value cards will feature the more basic and traditional card images of the appropriate suit indicating their value.

Adopting a standard arrangement for its Solitaire game play, the top half of the screen will show the current layout of the Solitaire cards to be removed by creating sequences.  These cards will  be arranged either presented face down or covered partially by other cards.  Centrally positioned beneath the Solitaire layout will be the current card sitting next to the pile of available cards that can be worked through if necessary when and if needed.

Located on the left side of the screen will be any available Joker cards that you build up during the game.  On the right side of the screen will sit any Undo facilities that you will build up and used to correct a mistaken move.  After each completed level you will be awarded a Joker card and Undo feature so you can easily build up quite a store of these facilities.

The simplicity of the game play. lack of any extra features and the style of graphics, all mark this title of being more suitable for the younger members of the family.  I downloaded my copy of this title from Gamehouse.com where it is priced at $9.99.  The game requires a 2.0 GHz processor with 1024MB of RAM and 138MB of hard disk space running Windows 7 and later.
