A pair of lime green earbuds – other colours are available – have kept me company on a range of journeys in an around London. The first advantage is that your SmartPhone remains well and truly out of site be it in your pocket or purse.

These are described on the box as Wireless Sports Headphones with LED neckband. The main problem for me is not the fact that the cable linking the two buds lights up – this can be turned off - it is that they are intended for use by people exerting themselves, certainly when – on the rare occasions – I break into an ungainly trot I sweat in fact I have done a lot of sweating recently simply by the temperature being above the British summer norm, so let’s hope that will suffice.
The earpieces themselves are large but they are not designed to fit in the ear and the three sizes of earbuds are more normal and these have steadying fins designed to fit into the outer ear so only the silicon bud itself delves into your ear.
Eight sides of a ridiculously small 8.5x5.5cm User Guide tell you everything you need to know but like so many User Guides you need a magnifying glass to read the up to forty lines of text per side, still at least it’s all in English.
The cable connecting to two ear pieces is 30cm long and can glow or flash at several speeds or not, dependant on your whim at the time.
The right ear piece has on/off button as well as back and forward for track movement and phone call answering or ending.
The single button on the left ear piece controls the speed of flash for the cable; all this and more is explained in the User Manual.
In the box is a carry pouch and two other pairs of different sized buds that will suit most ear canal sizes.
I have emphasized the lime green colour but that is only on the inside of the ear pieces and the connecting cable the rest is a nice matt black colour.
You have to know where the controls are or you will be taking the ear pieces in and out of your ears as of courses we do not have eyes in or near our ears. So once again the answer is RTFM first.
I found the Bluetooth linking quick and straightforward and the name given to the earbuds is logical unlike that for some devices.
I was happy with the sound quality and once you have mastered how they fit in your ears – a better diagram would have been nice – and the box does show a good reason for the glowing or flashing neckband for those running/jogging/fast walking at night.
In fairness the illustrations on the box are clearer than those in the User Manual.
This is a reasonably priced Bluetooth set of buds with good sound quality which I tested by moving the files from my MP3 onto my phone to enable to test on what I call the most demanding environment the tubes very noisy Northern Line.
