Outlier Air V3

Having previously told you about the Creative Outlier Gold and the Creative Outlier Air V2 offerings the latest to come my way is Creative Outlier Air V3. The strap line for V2 was ‘True Wireless Sweatproof In-Ears With Touch Controls’ while with V3 its ‘True Wireless Sweatproof In-Ears with Ambient Mode.

Outwardly the boxes look the same but the V3 has two more iconized points on the back – twelve instead of ten – under power packed features.

Open the flip open lid and the text on the reverse is the same. So just fit the buds into the 7.5x4.5x2.8cm push open case and plug the supplied USB to USB ‘C’ lead into the end of the case to power up the buds. A single charge should give you ten hours of playing time and once fully charged the case should hold enough charge to recharge the buds another three times so forty hours in total between needing to find a USB socket.

The two new features are Ambient Mode and Improved noise reduction so in noisy areas you can drown out other sounds to just hear your music or concentrate on your phone call.

The other main features are touch controls so your SmartPhone can stay in your pocket or bag and you just press the appropriate bud to move forward or back a track or answer your call, you can even use Siri or Google to make calls.

There are four microphones to calculate what is you and disregard what is not.

The 6mm drivers are Bio Cellulose for clarity.

The Bluetooth level is v5.2.

They now support two voice calls for those moments when everyone wants you.

IPX5 Sweat proof ability so the buds stay in place even when you are exercising. Your buds are also Super X-Fi ready.

Like most recent sets of earbuds Creative have an App and while things like an Equalizer are all but standard what is not all that common is the ability to change what pushes on the buds do to suit your use.

I found them easy to use and unlike some other buds light touches are supported but moving the buds in your ear does not cause unwanted changes.

A full set of what the V3 buds do as compared to V2 is shown on the Creative site and can be seen on the second link at the end.

The Creative Outlier Air V3 are available from the first link below for £55. At the time of writing they are available direct from Creative on the second link for £44.99 as a launch promotion.
